Anu-pallavi (reference and context):
Sabhari the Old received the most cherished of blessings (Lord Rama's grace) in the flesh; the First among Masters (Tyagaraja Swami) expressed his amazement over this gift as a feast in the Raga Mukhari (in the song "Entanine Varnimchunu").
Charana (Mukhari's characteristics are listed here):
Ideal to be sung in the afternoon;
Consists of the jiva swaras, ma, ga, ri and dA;
One of the foremost bhashanga ragas (takes on notes outside of its parent scale);
Is considered a mela by some and janya by others.
